MEMORANDUM FOR BOBCAT FAMILIES

Update from Afghanistan

Aloha from Afghanistan! As I write this, Task Force Bobcat is on the move again! I am sure your loved ones have already hinted at this in their calls and / or told you. I will not disclose our exact location right now but it will be a new FOB in a different geographic area of Afghanistan. We are not trying to keep secrets from you but we ARE trying to keep them from the ENEMY! Your assistance and patience is appreciated. MAHALO! This move looks right now like it will be permanent and we will have good opportunities to improve our FOB as well as get about improving the lives of the Afghan people. Life support/comfort items are in short supply where I am today writing this but we are turning on a lot of resources. We should have tier three tents (wood frames and floors) by end of August and potentially hard stand buildings by end of November or first part of December. Flexibility will be key and right now the Bobcats are flexible. Your loved ones are doing a superb job in a difficult environment. I am extremely proud of their individual and collective accomplishments. Your continued support is a key factor in their continued success. I will be able to provide more information in subsequent updates.
We will loose our phone and Internet connectivity for a period of time. We are working on moving the contract to our new FOB. More news regarding that later as it becomes available. 
Lastly, keep the mail coming!  The new address simply changes 09354 to 09355. We already have it worked out so that any mail currently in the system will still get to us at the new FOB. It is a highlight in every soldier�s day when he or she receives mail from home.  I would also like to thank you all for your support and encouragement.  You are a great strength to everyone here, and we deeply appreciate all you do on our behalf.  God bless.
