Jim Slagle (left) and Billie Barnett recuperating from wounds in a platoon hootchin Cu Chi. Each was wounded by my hand grenade during a battle on 19 February 1968. Barnett's unbandaged wound is visible on his left wrist. I was glad they were still smiling.
