"On Point"

A cropped version of this picture was used on the cover of my book, On Point, which won the Army Historical Foundation's Distinguished Book Award. I took this picture during a firefight in the Ho Bo Woods. Notice the damage to tree limbs by shrapnel and intense small arms fire. Three soldiers are hunkered down anticipating enemy fire while attempting to see what's going on and identify targets. But the reason I took the picture is the fourth soldier standing to the left of the crouched individuals with his back to the camera.He's taking a leak. Little did I know that this would one day end up on the cover of my book.
