Dear Uncle Bob,
I was only 9 when you died for our country in Vietnam. I remember when you drove me and Granny in your Corvette and seeing you at Fort Dix before you left for the war. I remember writing you a Christmas letter--it was the first letter I had ever written. I remember When Granny and Grandpa were given your Bronze Star and Purple Heart at a parade. They were brave that day.
They were with you again, watching when it was our turn to be brave: when I was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star; when my brother, Robert Brian, (named after you) went to Al Anbar and came home safe after a year; and when my son, Sean took the oath of allegiance at the Air Force Academy.
Thank you for telling us to be brave. I love you,
Billy
